Bunnymund

"Aw come on eggs… Just jump over the roots and you'll be fine!" Bunnymund yelled at the eggs, their knees shaking as the burnt eggs wobbled and fell, rolling down the hill. "I'll get it sorted out before Easter, I promise. Let's do another test run, all right? Just remember to jump OVER the roots for now!"
The eggs fell into line, saluting their commander – despite their lack of arms – and marched down the hill and toward the tunnels. Under the Easter Island heads, the eggs received a splash of paints, emerging as colorful Easter treats. The tunnel doors scraped open against the wall of rock.
Before the eggs could go through, a large shadow burst forth through the central tunnel. The eggs panicked and ran about the clearing in terror. Bunnymund leaped into action, drawing out his boomerangs to inter the shadow. It offered up no resistance, but rather fell quickly to the ground, disintegrating in the light.
Bunnymund approached the fading nightmare and watched as its gold eye disappeared into the darkness. The eggs all gathered around the spot edging close to the now departed fear.
"Wait here, eggs." Bunnymund ordered, launching himself into the central tunnel where the nightmare had emerged, fearful of more nightmares on the way. Halfway down the tunnel he stopped, reaching where the roots pierced into the sides of the borough. Remnants of the shadow from before melted at the sides of the roots. From that point, Bunnymund peaked his head out at the surface, but retreated back slightly at the sight of Pitch standing next to one of the enchanted trees.
"AAAAH" Pitch had yelled, pulling his hand away from the green tree. Bunnymund watched as Pitch inspected the tree, spoke softly to himself. With his words, Pitch's mouth curled into a devilish grin, sending shivers through Bunnymund's fur. Pitch sniffed at the air, his smile crashing into a snarl as he sensed fear nearby
"Oh, crikey…" Bunnymund reacted, closing the hole before Pitch could see him watching.
Pitch calmed when he found no one nearby. "Must have been a rodent taken as prey in the night…," he reasoned; then into the shadows, he vanished.
Bunnymund reemerged from the hole, sniffing around to make sure Pitch had actually gone. When the coast was clear, he approached the tree that Pitch had been observing and saw one of the nightmares melting at its base. This nightmare was different from the one in the borough though. The nightmare next to the tree melted but pulsed outward at the same time, coming to life with fear but dying all at the same time. Bunnymund looked down at the nightmare with pity, and stomped it out until nothing remained.
"This does not look good…"

Jack

"Ooooookkay…" Jack pondered. The courtyard in front of the workshop looked like a fairly decent place for power training. There were a few trees around, but they were already lively and green, despite how cold it was.
"What would happen if she touched a tree that was already fully grown?" Tooth asked. Jack and the girl both shrugged.
"It won't hurt to try, right?" The girl said as she approached the tree. Tooth and Jack floated there, wondering what might happen. The tree stood tall, towering over the girl like a skyscraper almost. She placed her hand against the bark; it felt warm and soft against her palm, unlike the rough trees she had touched in the woods. She kept her hand set there for about a minute, but the tree didn't budge an inch except for its branches swaying at the mercy of the wind.
"Well that didn't do much…" Jack noted.
"It didn't do anything at all," the girl corrected him.
"Try touching the grass," Tooth suggested.
The girl kneeled to the ground and placed one hand on the grass and using the other as a balance. The grass tickled at her hand, but didn't grow at all. Instead, the girl let the grass take her in as she lied down next to the tree. Grass brushed at the sides of her face and arms, and sunlight shined through the leaves of the tree and warmed her face.
"Whoa! Don't fall asleep!" Jack glided over to her quickly, panicked for a moment. The girl laughed.
"No, I'm not falling asleep. I'm just enjoying nature. It's peaceful here…"
Jack and Tooth looked down at her on the ground. She did look very peaceful, Jack thought. Compared to how he had found her in the woods, scare and alone; she seemed happy now.
"Hey, I got an idea," he said, offering a hand to the girl to help her up. The girl took it, expecting to get her baring on the ground; Jack floated upward instead, lifting her up off the ground. "Come up with us, Tooth," he motioned. The three of them flew upward until they reached the clouds.
"Oh gosh!" The girl shrieked as she looked down, and then immediately closed her eyes.
"Don't be afraid. We've got you," Jack wrapped his other hand around her waist and hoisted her up to his side. Tooth came to the girl's side and took hold of her other hand. The girl opened her eyes again, looking all around her at the clouds looming around them. Her mouth opened in amazement, eyes sparkling at the sight.
As Jack held her, he noticed a change in the weight, as if he were holding nothing at all. He motioned to Tooth, who, having noticed the same thing, nodded back. Slowly, Tooth released the girl's hand, and Jack lessened his grip on her waist slightly, carefully testing the theory. The girl hadn't noticed yet how Tooth was moving away, still entranced by the sky.
Jack had completely released the girl now, and there she floated like them. "Hey," Jack called to her. The girl looked at him, suddenly noticing that he and Tooth were no longer holding her. Her hands went to her mouth, holding back a shriek.
"I…I'm flying! I'm really flying!"
FWOOSH… the girl spun suddenly, unable to gain equilibrium in the sky. Tooth flew to her and grabbed at her arm, steadying her again.
"I'm really flying!!!" the girl yelled again, nearly unphased by the turbulence.
The two of them lowered the girl closer to the ground, not letting her land just yet.
"You still need a bit of practice with control," Jack rubbed at his chin again.
The girl looked ecstatic, giggling as her body started to turn at its side, until she was eventually upside down, using her hand to keep her shirt from falling down. Tooth set her straight again.
"Okay then, how about you try following me…" Tooth challenged the girl, flying over to the front door of the workshop. At first she wobbled a bit in the air, but then managed to push herself forward toward the door. When the girl finally reached it, Tooth nodded in approval, then ascending to the top of the door.
"Alright, now try to ascend."
The girl took a bit longer to test the movement with ascending. At first she tried walking in midair as if going up stairs, invoking laughter from Jack. Finally she managed to get up to Tooth, who continued flying away, setting new goals for her.
Jack leaned against the front door and watched as they practiced. She wasn't getting the hang of it quite as quickly as he did, but what could he say? He was a gifted flyer.
"I looked at girl like that once… before I was guardian" North said. Jack jumped slightly, startled at North's sudden appearance.
"You know what happened?" North asked him. Jack just looked at him, not sure where he was going with this. "I got slapped."
"I've already been slapped twice," Jack started, then shut his mouth, suddenly understanding what North meant. He blushed slightly.
"I wasn't looking at her like that…"
"Sure… I didn't see anything… but certainly you did!" North laughed heartily at his word play, and Jack scowled at him.
"Hello, North!" The girl called out to him, waving from the air.
"Oh, look at you up there! If only I could fly, I would join you up there and give you this!"
Tooth and the girl flew back down to the courtyard, the girl's landing a bit clumsy. North approached her and held up the outfit. The white top was longer in the back, long enough to cover her butt while the front would probably stop at her hips. The pants were like slacks, but a bit more form fitting and flexible. The girl nodded in approval.
"And I put frill inside pants at the bottom," North said with pride, lifting one of the pant legs up to show the one length of frill on the inside lining at the bottom. The girl still looked happy with how it turned out. "But before I give to you," North started, feeling at the shirt until he reached the collar, pulling the lining to where it was visible. In his fingers, he pointed at a little strip of white fabric sewed in at the back of the collar. "I put this here to put your name in, so that you will never forget it. So… what would you like us to call you?"
"That's right," Tooth said bashfully, "We haven't even been calling you by a name! How terrible of us!"
"It's alright, Tooth. It's not like a really had a name to go by anyway."
"What do you want to be called?" Jack asked her.
The girl stood there, silently thinking for a while. "I want you to call me… Light."
"Really?" Jack asked before anyone else responded. He remembered how she had obsessed about the lights just before she fell asleep that night in the woods, and how scared she looked before closing her eyes. He didn't understand why she would want to go by that name.
"Yeah," she responded, "I want you to call me Light… because I remember it was the first thing I said that night I lied alone beneath the moon, that the light had to be important somehow. But mostly I want to remember that despite my unknown past, I still have something to look forward to with every sunrise. You know what I mean?"
Jack felt North nudge an elbow at his shoulder, without which he might not have realized he'd been staring at her again like before. Good thing she was looking away, Jack thought to himself as he shook himself out of the trance.
"Alright, let's go stitch it in," North said.
"North!" a voice came from behind them. The group turned to find the source of the voice. Just out in the grass by the trees, Bunnymund emerged from a hole out of the boroughs. From there, he bounded across the courtyard to the front doors, going right up to North.
